Quarter Finalists in Rocket League

Silverton's Rocket League e-sports team finished within the Quarter Finals at the FUSE Cup Primary School Tournament held on the 28th of October at Ivanhoe Grammar School. Read all about it by clicking on the link below!

The FUSE Cup Rocket League Tournament consisted Grade 5 and 6 students from Mentone Grammar School, Ivanhoe Grammar School, Melbourne Girls Grammar School, Saint Oliver Plunkett Catholic Parish Primary School and Silverton Primary School. The matches were played in a 2v2 format. Across all schools, there were a total of 30 competitors! From Silverton Primary School, Josh, Allan, Mansoor and Adam were selected to play in the state tournament.

During the group stages, each pair played a total of 4 games. The 8 teams with the most wins moved on to the quarter finals. If teams had the same amount of wins, their goal difference would've been taken into account to decide who makes it through. Silverton Team 1 (Josh and Allan) made it through the group stages with 3 wins and a goal difference of 16 while Silverton Team 2 (Mansoor and Adam) made it through the group stages with 3 wins as well, but a goal difference of 25.

The schools that made it through to the quarter finals were Ivanhoe, St Oliver and Silverton. Josh and Allan played against a team from St Oliver while Mansoor and Adam played against a team from Ivanhoe. It was a thrilling match through and through, but unfortunately Silverton was unable to convert a lot of their shots on goal and did not advance to the semi-finals. After several more matches within the semi-finals and the grand finals, St Oliver Plunkett Primary School was crowned as Rocket League Primary School Victorian Champions. We would like to congratulate St Oliver on their well-deserved victory and give our thanks to The FUSE Cup for organising this event.
