Students develop knowledge and skills within key areas including performance, composition, improvisation and music appreciation. These areas, developed sequentially, enhance students’ capacity to perceive and understand music.
In Music, Students are exposed to a variety of instruments including tuned and un-tuned percussion with a focus on the musical elements. Students sing, play instruments, use body percussion and technology to engage in creating music. Discussion on how and why music is made/performed as well as music from different times and cultures is also incorporated.
Students develop their ability to identify and describe, using terminology and symbols (notation), aspects of the music they listen to, compose and perform.
