The Physical Education program at Silverton Primary School aims to engage students into a lifelong interest in physical activity. We offer a range of experiences both inside and outside of the school environment. In doing so, students will have exposure to a diverse assortment of choices for their future endeavours. We believe this leads to students to gain a boarder understanding of healthy lifestyles, greater skill development and inclusive participation.

Lesson units are sequenced from Foundation to Grade 6 level to cater for all abilities and interests. Learning focuses include fundamental motor skills, game sense, creative movement, promotion of fair play, taking on roles and responsibility, promoting healthy lifestyles and problem solving.

On top of the regular curriculum, students are offered opportunities to participate in sporting pursuits within the local community with Foundation to Grade Two students visiting local sporting clubs and centres to enhance their knowledge. Students in Grade Three to Six compete at District, Division, Regional and State Championships in sports such as Swimming, AFL, Tennis, Cross Country, Golf, Rugby League, Cricket, Basketball and Orienteering.
