This Friday, 25th March, Silverton is participating in the National Ride to School Day!
We encourage all our students and their families to ride, scoot or walk to school on this day. Even if you only ride or walk part of your journey to school.
Active transport has many benefits for us all, especially for our health, unfortunately our kids today are not as active as we used to be. There are also benefits for the environment, with less carbon emissions from cars being released into the atmosphere.
Here at Silverton we look forward to participating in more Ride 2 School programs with the Bicycle Network later in 2022. But this Friday, Ride 2 School Day, provides a good opportunity to explore active transport opportunities for our school community.
We encourage all students and their families to consider using active transport options like riding bikes or even just walking to school this Friday. Even if it means just parking the car a little further away than usual and walking some of the way.
