SWPBS, Respectful Relationships and Values

Incorporating School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS), Respectful Relationships and our school Values at Silverton PS

At Silverton Primary School we are proud of our commitment to developing our students own personal wellbeing. During designated wellbeing sessions and our Slow Starts at the start of every school day, our students are introduced to our school’s values, expectations, and Respectful Relationships activities. Through these teachings, we encourage all students to develop knowledge in themselves from a personal and social standpoint.

The staff at Silverton Primary School strive to create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment for every student. Our focus is on improving the social, emotional, and academic outcomes of every student. By teaching positive behaviours, using data to make decisions, and involving the whole school community, SWPBS aims to reduce disruptions and increase learning time for students and staff.

This Term our school Value focus is ‘Empathy’.

By following selected activities in the Departments Respectful Relationships program, the children across the school have been introduced to the Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR) resources. Each term, they learn about different topics, educating them on social and emotional learning and respectful relationships.

In Semester One, students have learnt about emotional literacy, personal and cultural strengths and positive coping. During Terms Three and Four, they will continue to learn help seeking strategies, positive gender relations, stress management skills and how to deal navigate peer relationships through problem solving.
