Marine Ambassador Excursion to Namitjira Park

On Wednesday 13 August the marine ambassadors went to Namitjira Park in Clayton. We looked at a rubbish trap being emptied by Melbourne Water, did an A.M.I report task, water testing, frog call identifying and a rubbish pick up.

Fist we looked at the rubbish trap being emptied. A rubbish trap is where rubbish from storm water drains is gathered and the employees of Melbourne water empty it out.

Then we found A.M.Is. We found leaches, seed shrimps, biting midge larvae and others. It was fun.

Next, we did water testing where we learned how to test for turbidity, phosphorous, and salinity.

After that, we did some frog call identification.
