. This year’s global theme, “Beat Plastic Pollution”, inspired the SSC to take a creative action. The SSC used recycled plastic bottles and milk cartons and transformed these into beautiful lanterns. After receiving permission from Mr. Pollard and Mrs. Blake (the Science teacher), the SSC proudly displayed their lanterns inside the school pond. Then, students moved onto completing their own awareness projects, ranging from designing posters about world environment day, making maps of the vegetable garden and making artwork using flowers and leaves they had collected around the school. We are incredibly proud of what the SSC has accomplished and hope their actions inspire the wider school community to recycle more.
