On Thursday 6th of March Silverton’s Marine Ambassadors went to Sorrento to go snorkelling. Eight students travelled on a boat called Moonraker to Popes Eye in Port Phillip Bay. We had fun snorkelling with seals and saw some other marine species. We also got hot chocolate on the boat because it was very cold when we got out of the water.
Back on the boat we went to look for dolphins We saw between 10-20 adult dolphins and one calf (baby dolphin) but we couldn’t swim with them because mothers can be aggressive to protect their calves. Back on the shore, we also saw some shellfish.
It was a day that we will remember for the rest of our lives.
