In literacy groups in Semester Two, LC3 and LC4 did kitchen garden with Mrs. Blake, Miss Marsh, and Yumna.
We cooked Veggie Samosas with a side salad and cucumber raita. We also learnt about how potatoes “saved the world” as well as how to safely use a knife as well as many techniques for cutting different food. When we were waiting for our turn to cook, we learnt about the nutritional value as well as the country of origin of the ingredients we were cooking with. The different groups enjoyed cooking the food and sitting together to eat.
Some of the ingredients we used to cook came from our school veggie garden, such as lettuce and coriander.
