R U OK? Day

The Silverton Student Committee wanted to bring attention to R U OK? Day, which officially takes place on the second Thursday of September, however, Silverton will be marking the occasion during the last week of Term 3 – on Tuesday, September 16th. To raise awareness, we’re holding a FREE DRESS DAY on Tuesday, September 16th, where all staff and students are encouraged to wear YELLOW. The colour yellow symbolises optimism, positivity, hope and friendship. By wearing yellow, it serves as a reminder to check in on others, start conversations, and ask “Are you OK”?, because sometimes a simple question can make a BIG difference.

Term 3 Reading and Writing Workshops in Foundation

This term, Foundation students have been exploring non-fiction texts and writing animal reports about Australian animals. They have been learning to summarise key facts about each animal, including its habitat, diet, and interesting features. Students have enjoyed becoming “animal experts” and sharing their new knowledge with the class. We are excited to share their completed animal booklets with families soon.
