2025 Newsletter #9

Dear Silverton families,

I’d like to start by saying welcome back for Term Four.

A reminder about student safety and the Silverton drive car park. This carpark is strictly for staff and for parents dropping off/picking up for Oshcare. Please do not double park in this carpark at pick up time. If you do need to access this carpark for Oschare, please enter and exit the carpark slowly and with caution to ensure safety.

Congratulations to the students who competed at Senior Hooptime in the last week of Term Three. Thank you to Mrs Howard and Mrs Kittle for their coaching.

Silverton ran an Esports tournament on the 12th Sep with four visiting schools joining the comp. Thank you to Mr Tang for organising the day and coaching Silverton’s team.

Students in F-2 had a gymnastics excursion on 15th Sep. They had a great day! Thank you to the staff who went along on the day.

RUOK Day was held at Silverton on the 16th Sep. We chose this date as it was the 3 year anniversary of Ms Prosser’s passing. We felt it was a fitting day with a focus on looking after each other.

Silverton’s annual Footy Day was held on the last day of the Term. Thank you to Mrs Kittle, Mr Peterson and everyone else who helped in organising and making the day a success.

Silverton had a number of students who competed at Division Athletics on 8th Oct. Congratulations to all students on a fantastic effort. We had eight students who progressed through to Regional Athletics which will be held on Friday 24th Oct. Wishing them all the best!

Our School Concert ‘Game On’, held at Crossway last Wednesday, was a huge success. Congratulations to all students on their performances. A big thank you to the Performing Arts committee for their organisation of such a brilliant concert. Thank you to all staff for giving up their time to help run the event. Thank you also to the parent/carer volunteers who also supported the concert.

Our F-2 students had their RSPCA incursion today with some special visitors! They had a great day.

Congratulations to our Chess team who competed at Karingal PS today. Thank you to Miron for his coaching.

We are starting to plan classes for 2026 and would appreciate if you could please let us know if your child is not returning to Silverton next year, or if your child will be starting the school year late. Please fill out this form on Compass.

Thank you to all families who have made payment of their parent contributions and laptop payments via compass. If you need any help using compass or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to speak with the admin team.

Thank you,

Mark Pollard – Principal

A few Reminders

  • Please ensure that your child(ren) are in full school uniform. If you have any questions about uniform or require any assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

  • Arrival time: For safety reasons, students should not arrive at school before 8:45am. This is when staff begin before school yard duty. If you need your child to be supervised earlier than 8:45am, we have an Oshcare service which runs everyday from 7:00am – 8:45am. Please enquire if you require this service.

  • Pick up time: School finishes at 3:15pm every day. If you require your child to be supervised later than that, please also enquire with our Oshcare program.

  • Please DO NOT park in the disabled carpark unless you are permitted to do so.

  • Please obey all street parking signs in neighboring streets to avoid being fined and do not perform U-turns outside the school gates.
