2023 Newsletter #1

Dear Silverton Families,
I’d like to welcome everybody back for our 2023 school year. I hope you all had an enjoyable holiday period. It’s very exciting to welcome a new cohort of Foundation students to Silverton Primary School. I look forward to getting to know the children and their families and look forward to catching up at the Foundation Picnic on Thursday. The school year is off to a great start. Students have settled in very well and there is a real buzz around the place!
You may have noticed a few changes around the school. Glenn has been very busy over the break working on the new gardens in the courtyard which looks amazing. We have also had the new shade sail installed in front of the Science and STEM rooms. This will provide a nice shady space for some of our students to sit and eat their lunch.
Thank you to everyone that has filled in our survey to establish our new School Values. I really appreciate your input. We are looking forward to having our first House Day this Wednesday where the students will also spend some time focusing on School Values. This will give the students their opportunity to have a say in what our School Values should be.
Once again, I would just like to welcome everyone back to Silverton and thank you for your ongoing support. We are looking forward to a great year!
Thank you,
Mark Pollard – Acting Principal
