End of Term 2 e-Newsletter

Term 2 Holidays start Friday 25th June at 2:30pm

School resumes Monday 12th July

As we come towards the end of another fantastic Semester at Silverton I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone.  We have endured another two week lockdown with online learning. Our parents and children did their best to work through this difficult time and as a community we appreciate everyone’s best efforts. We must also celebrate our students and their flexibility in returning to onsite learning for the last two weeks of the term.

With Mr Ben O’Connor going on long service leave next term we will have a staffing change in Learning Centre 2, Mr Alex Keng will be 1V’s home group teacher.   Mrs Marta Koval will be teaching 12S on Fridays.  We also welcome back Mrs Sam Golotta and Mrs Ana Kitharidis. 

SCHOOL REPORTS

Teachers are in the process of finalising the Semester 1 reports for students. These reports are going to look a bit different to those in previous years, stating students’ future learning goals in Literacy and Numeracy.

Report writing takes staff many out of school hours and a great deal of effort to complete.

Semester 1 reports will be published on Thursday 22 July at 6pm.   If parents have any questions after reading their child’s reports, they can contact the teacher via Sentral, email or phone.

2022 SCHOOL ENROLMENTS

As the year rolls on, we are keen to ensure that all of our current families have their Foundation/Prep students enrolled for 2022. These enrolments allow us to plan for next year which includes our ability to keep all class sizes as small as possible.

We continue to aim to keep our Foundation classes to below twenty as we strive to give children the best possible start to their education. Therefore it is highly important for us to have an idea as to how many students may be enrolling at our school for next year.

If you know of a neighbour or a relative who has a child that turns five before the 30th April 2021, please ask them to come to the office for an enrolment form or on Silverton’s website.  Enrolment form

We look forward to meeting all of our new families enrolling at Silverton and making them a part of our community.  

On the  23  July we are having ‘Play the Silverton Way’ from 1.30 – 2.30pm, please register by contacting our school office on 9795 5033.

We hope that all of our families have the opportunity to get out and about these holidays.

Excursions and School Payments

We are currently trialling online Permission for excursions through the Sentral Parent Portal/App. When you child is included in an excursion/incursion, you will revieve a notification in your Portal/App newsfeed. Please action this. 

Unfortuately, any payment needs to be completed seperately. We are still encouragning contactless payments and receipts where possible.

We are still encouraging all parents to pay either by direct deposit or via their credit card over the phone, but will still accept cash at the office.
