2025 Newsletter #6
Dear Silverton families,
Although it is now week two, I would just like to start by saying welcome back and I hope everyone enjoyed their time over the break.
Term Three is set to be a very busy nine weeks including Student Led Conferences, F-2 swimming, Year Four Camp, preparation for School Concert and a lot more!
A big thank you to all staff and students who helped plan and run our LOTE House Day in the last week of Term Two. It was a fantastic day!

Chess Gala Day was held at Silverton on Wednesday 2nd July. A big thank you to Miron and well done to all of our students who were involved on the day.
Last week Silverton hosted the Interschool Sports Finals in which four of our Silverton teams competed. Thank you to Mrs Kittle, Mr Peterson and all staff who coached and helped out on the day. Our Rookie Rollers team and our Mixed Netball team both won their Grand Finals. Our Girls AFL team and our Boys Soccer team were both runners up on the day. Congratulations! Yesterday our Girls AFL team competed at Division level and were the Division Runners Up! A great achievement!
Good luck to our Mixed Netball team who play their division final next week.
Yesterday after school we held another 2026 Foundation Transition session where the children got to rotate through some of our specialist classes in PE, Music and Science. We had a BBQ to finish the evening and it was lovely to have such a great turn out! Thank you to all staff and student leaders who helped run the event for our 2026 Foundations.
Today is our Student Led Conference Day. I’m so proud of the effort that our students have put into their presentations. Thank you to all staff for their work in supporting our students and helping to make it such a great day.
A reminder to families that tomorrow is a Jump Rope for Heart themed House Day. Don’t forget to wear your house colours! Thank you in advance to the staff and students who have planned tomorrow’s activities.
I’m very proud to share with you the results from our 2025 Attitudes to School Survey which all students in years 4 to 6 completed. We have worked very hard as a school community in a number of areas, and it is lovely to see the effort being reflected in our survey data. Please see below a snapshot of the improvement from 2024 to 2025.
