Silverton Primary School's Newsletter #15
December 2022

Dear Silverton Families,

As our year draws close to an end, this will be our final newsletter for the 2022 school year.

Last week we had our final Transition session for our 2023 Foundation students which went well. Thank you again to all staff involved in the Transition sessions. It’s always exciting welcoming a new cohort to Silverton and watching them settle into Primary School life!

Congratulations to staff and students involved in our Performing Arts Showcase, it’s always a great event. Thank you to all of the family members who came along to watch our little musos!

Thank you to all that attended Twilight Festival last Thursday. Although it was a little cooler than we had hoped, it was a great event and well attended by the community. Thank you to all staff and parent volunteers for your assistance in making this another brilliant Silverton event! Congratulations to our students on their amazing performances!

Our Year six students spent the day on Tuesday at their Secondary Schools for Year 7 Transition Day. I trust that although nervous, they all enjoyed the experience and feel more ready to begin the next phase of their education.

We are very much looking forward to the Year Six Graduation Ceremony tonight. We wish the students all the very best for what is a special night. Thank you to all staff involved in making this event a success.

I’d like to take the opportunity acknowledge the staff that are leaving Silverton at the end of this year. Ben Eilenberg, Esther Wallis, Chrissie Fraser, Steph Chan, Tegan Cartledge, Kelly Stevens and Tahlia Holmes. They will all be very much missed! Thank you for your hard work and dedication to Silverton Primary School. We wish you all the very best for the next phase of your career.

Thank you to our parent volunteers, our canteen staff, our crossing supervisors and all others who have in some way worked with, helped and supported our school this year.

Finally, after what has been a very challenging year for all I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for your ongoing support to our school community following the passing of Ms Prosser. We have an amazing community here at Silverton and I’m extremely proud of the way we have all looked after each other.

While you are enjoying some family time over the break, please take a moment to remember our wonderful Principal and be thankful for the positive impact she has had on you, your children and your family. How lucky we all were to have Ms Prosser in our lives!

I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday. Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it.

Enjoy the break, be safe, and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone back in the new year.

Thank you,

Mark Pollard – Acting Principal

A special message from Ms Prosser’s family…

 THANK YOU, SILVERTON COMMUNITY.

Our family wishes to thank you most sincerely for your expressions of comfort and support during a very difficult time for all on the sudden passing of Amanda.

Your overwhelming support, floral tribute at the school gate, use of facilities, art show tribute, the amazing message albums, all provide comfort and we will be eternally grateful.

We have seen firsthand why Amanda loved this school community.

You have truly touched our hearts.

THE PROSSER FAMILY
