October 2020 Newsletter
Silverton Primary School's October 2020 e-Newsletter
Dear Parents,
It is great to have all our students back at school. Seeing their smiling, eager faces as they enter the grounds simply reinforces how excited everyone was. The students have eagerly reconnected with their friends and settled into learning with ease.
Remote learning was a successful venture for our school community, but it is wonderful to return to face to face teaching. This extraordinary time has really shown the strength of our community and the genuine respect, care and generosity we have for each other.
Last week we started our 2021 Foundation/Prep Transition program online. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone who has not as yet returned their child’s enrolment form to do so ASAP either by dropping the documents off or by emailing them to admin@silverton-ps.vic.edu.au
All the best to Mrs Stephanie Chang who is taking family leave for the impending arrival of her baby boy.
I would also like to take this opportunity to wish our 2020 Grade 6 students all the best for their last Primary school Term.
Thank you parents for observing our practices around physical distancing and pick up/drop off expectations. It is running smoothly and keeping our school community safe.
Take care
Amanda

Uniform Donations
Our students have grown so much during remote learning. If you have been cleaning out the cupboards and have uniforms that are now too small, please dontate them to school. We always need spares.
Science
Students in Grade One and Two learning about properties of materials- Testing for Absorbency during remote learning
Late Arrival
If your child is late to school, which we understand can happen, please make sure they come to the office when they arrive. This is so we can fix their attendance in case of an emergency.
Contactless Payments and Receipts
Due to the current climate the school is moving towards contactless payments and receipts.
Payments
We are encouraging all parents to pay either by direct deposit or via their credit card over the phone. We are still accepting cash but due to parents not being able to attend onsite at the moment these are our preferred methods of payment.
