December 2019 Newsletter
Welcome to Silverton Primary School's e-Newsletter.
Dear Parents,
It has again been a highly rewarding year at Silverton Primary School.
Congratulations to Mrs Blake, Silverton’s sustainability team and to the whole school community for winning the Greater Dandenong Sustainability Community award.
Last Friday we held our final Foundation Orientation session for the year. Thank you to Catherine Ham and other staff members who have been involved with the transition program over this term. A great success!!
Congratulations and thank you to our Parents Association for the tireless work they do for the school, over $14 000 raised. This is an outstanding amount. These funds will go towards improving our school’s playground areas for the students.
Thank you to school councillors who have made a formal commitment to their school. School Council has worked hard on planning, designing and supporting major upgrades to our wonderful facilities over the past four years. We are very excited to announce that a digital sign will go up early next year.
A big thank you must go to our staff, teaching and non-teaching. They are a dedicated and professional team who are extremely supportive of each other and are committed to ensuring the happiness and well-being of every child in the school. Only teachers and their partners and families truly understand the level of commitment that is made for our students. Many hours are spent unseen, working on and developing curriculum and activities to provide the best educational experiences possible for students at Silverton. A special thank you to those staff who are leaving us this year. We wish you well in your new endeavours and know you leave our school with many fond memories.
A special thank you to all the children for their industrious efforts and the manner in which they approach all aspects of their school life. We can all be justifiably proud of our school!!
Finally, a special mention to all our Year 6 students who complete their primary schooling next week. Congratulations and we wish you all the best as you commence the next exciting stage in your life; secondary schooling! A number of families will conclude their association with Silverton when their child finishes this year. Our best wishes go to these families for their support and assistance over the years.
To students who are leaving Silverton for a range of reasons, before the completion of Year 6, I wish you well at your new schools and I hope you and your families will look upon your time at Silverton Primary School with life time memories.
I look forward to seeing you all either at the Thank You morning tea on Wednesday, 11.00 am or at the Twilight Festival on Thursday, 5pm.
Happy holidays everyone!
Amanda
