June 2019 Newsletter

Welcome to Silverton Primary School's e-Newsletter.

Dear Parents,

During Education Week we had many tours of our school by prospective parents for 2020.  If you want your child to begin Foundation (Preps) next year you will need to complete your enrolment process ASAP to ensure a position is held for you.

On Friday 24 May, I was lucky enough to attend the Skype session with our Sister School Yan Cheng Number One Primary School.  Silverton Student Leaders introduced themselves and answered questions about Australia very confidently and at times in Mandarin.  Silverton students also shared information about our Phillip Island Fairy Penguins.

Sister school Yan Cheng Number One Primary School (Jiangsu, China) will visit Australia from Saturday 20 July to Friday 26 July and we are still urgently looking for families to host an international student.  Please contact the office or speak to Miss Cheng if you can assist.

Last week finished off with some of our children performing at Waverley Gardens in front of many shoppers and parents from our school.  The children really enjoyed the chance to perform to a different audience than what they do at school.  Well done to everyone involved.

Just a reminder that Monday 10th June is the Queen's Birthday public holiday and students are not required at school. I hope everyone enjoys the upcoming long weekend.
