April Newsletter 2019

Welcome to Silverton Primary School's e-Newsletter.

Dear Parents,

Last week the Year 4 students had a fabulous time exploring Melbourne on their 3 day camp.  Silverton’s camping program is a wonderful opportunity for our students to develop and grow many skills such as resilience, perseverance, independence and risk taking.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank all staff for supporting our camping programs here at Silverton.

There are still some students in Grades 3 to 6 that have not bought in over the ear headphones as yet. Headphones are part of our stationary list and are needed for our Laptop program. Headphones are available from the school office to purchase for $20, or you can purchase your own. Please note: students can not use earbud headphones.

Term 1 has flown by and the end of this term is not very far away, FRIDAY 5TH APRIL. Just a reminder school finishes at the earlier time of 2:30pm on this day. Term 2 commences on TUESDAY 23RD APRIL, one day later than normal due to Easter Monday.

When the students return from the holidays hopefully our new playground equipment will be ready for them to use.

Enjoy the holidays everyone!!

For safety reasons, parents are reminded that our yard is not supervised before 8:45am-students should not be arriving at school before this time.  Before school care is available.

Parents Association News

This year we are fundraising to landscape the area out the back between LC1 and LC2. Stay tuned for plans of the area.

We are off to a great start, and thanks to those who bought hot cross buns this year.  They will be delivered Wednesday 3rd April. The Easter Raffle will be drawn Friday the 5th of April on the last day of school.  Good luck, and its not too late to return those tickets.

Our Free Family movie night didn’t quite go to plan.  We thank you all for coming along and enjoying the activities and spending time with friends.  We are disappointed the movie did not go ahead, but we are working with the company to reschedule the movie night.

Thanks to all the people who helped on the night.
