Nyanyuot is Victoria's Just Dance Solo Champion!

On the 18th of March, a team of 4 Silverton students participated in The FUSE Cup Just Dance e-sports competition. Nyanyuot in Grade 6 was crowned the state champion of Victoria and will go on to compete in the national tournament later this year. Please click below to find out more!



Silverton's Just Dance e-sports team consisted of 4 students. Nyanyuot in Grade 6, Andrea in Grade 5, Ava G in Grade 6 and Tarek in Grade 5. These students participated in a Just Dance tournament hosted by 'The FUSE Cup' and was joined by other schools around Victoria such as: Mentone Grammar, Melbourne Girls Grammar, Wesley College, Ivanhoe Grammar and Saint Oliver Plunkett Primary School. There were a total of 32 students that competed on the day. Each student danced to a total of 4 songs in Round One where only the top 2 highest scoring students moved onto the knockout stage. All four students from Silverton Primary School made it into the knockout stage amongst 12 other students from various schools.



Within the knockout stages, only 1 student from each group would advance to the grand finals. Ava and Tarek represented Silverton in Knockout stage 3 while Nyanyuot and Andrea represetned Silverton in Knockout stage 4. All 4 students showed amazing sportsmanship regardless of who was winning or losing in points and displayed exceptional level of dancing and timing. Out of the 4 Silverton students, only Nyanyuot made it through to the grand finals where she competed against 3 other students to claim the title of state champion! With her consistent high scores, Nyanyuot managed to claim victory against her opponents and become Victoria's Just Dance Solo Champion. She will be invited to compete in an online national tournament later in the year against the other state champions to see who will be crowned the Australian Just Dance Champion of 2022!
