OSH Care
Silverton Primary School has a comprehensive program for Before School and After School Care.  This is particularly beneficial for parents and guardians from Silverton Primary School and St Elisabeth's Parish School.

Outside School Age Care is a care and recreational program for children from Prep to Grade Six.  We offer care both before and after school to children in a safe stimulating and supportive environment.

OSH Care operates in Silverton Primary School’s Activity Room.   Areas such as the courtyard and playgrounds, the basketball courts and oval are also used in After School sessions to provide a wide range of daily activities.

AFTER SCHOOL CARE – 3.30PM TO 6.00PM

After School Care offers children a choice of structured and unstructured play.  The children have a range of activities to choose from, such as group games, cooking, drama, art/craft, music, board games, play station, homework, outside play and colouring in.  St Elizabeth’s children are dropped off by St Elizabeth's staff at 3.20pm.  Afternoon tea is provided at 3.40pm.  OSH Care serves a varied array of food, consisting of fresh fruit and a snack.  After School Care finishes at 6.00pm and late fines are incurred after that time.

ENROLMENT

Attending OSH Care involves filling out an enrolment form available from the school office or OSH Care Program.  Once an enrolment form is completed, bookings can be made on a permanent or casual basis.  Enrolment forms must be updated each year or when any information changes.
Booking a permanent place at Before or After Care ensures a place is reserved for your child.  Booking is recommended for families who require care on a regular basis.
Casual bookings can also be made for families who need occasional care.  This can be done two ways, by telephoning and speaking to OSH staff or leaving a message on the answering machine.  Staff will inform your child/ren that are to attend the program After School, if required.

STEPS TO ENROL

  1. Fill in enrolment form and return to Coordinator.
  2. Fill in Centrelink Childcare Benefit (CCB) form to receive a percentage. If you have your CCB% already, contact Centrelink and register your children to OSH Care’s reference numbers
  3. Book your child/ren in for required days or as casuals.
  4. If you want to claim CCB in Lump Sum form, fill in a Lump Sum Form with Program Coordinator.

COMMUNICATION

All Communication is to come from the parents.  Staff will not take any verbal messages from your child/ren.  Please communicate any bookings, cancellations or messages to the Coordinator or OSH staff directly.  You can also leave any messages on the answering machine or leave a written note at the school office.

SIGNING IN AND OUT

It is a legal requirement that children are signed in and out of OSH Care. The person collecting them must be parent/guardian or authorized person from the enrolment form.   If someone not authorized is to collect your child/ren, please inform OSH staff by means of a written note or phone call leaving information as to who is picking up your child/ren and identification.
