Welcome to Silverton Primary School's e-Newsletter.

We are nearly halfway through Term 4, with only 7 weeks left of the school year.

We have a jam packed term with excursions, Swimming Program, Twilight Festival, LC4 Market Day, Grade 6 Graduation and many more events to look forward to.

The building works upgrade to our Administration Block and Learning Centre 5, are close to completion. We have received some extra funding to upgrade other areas of the school.

A reminder that this Monday, 5th November, is a Curriculum Day, therefore there is no school, and Tuesday 6th is Melbourne Cup Public Holiday.

Don't forget Grade 1 - 6 swimming starts Wednesday 7th November!

Art Show

Silverton put on its bi-annual Arts Show last week. This year, the theme was ‘Respect’ and every student worked hard to create something they were proud to have displayed in our galleries around the school. In the lead up to the Arts Show, we had visiting Chinese artists who worked with classes to produce some beautiful cherry blossom paintings.

Opening night was a great success with live performances from our Junior and Senior Band, as well as from Glee Club and State School Spectacular.

Art Reading Tips

Good readers make connections when they read.  It might sound like, “Oh that’s happened to me before…” or “I felt the same exact way when…”
